I am an Associate Professor at Georgia Tech. Previously, I was a Ritt Assistant Professor at Columbia University and a member of the IAS.
More details can be found in my CV (last updated April 2022).
Research
I study low-dimensional topology, in particular knot theory, concordance, and Heegaard Floer homology. My preprints and papers are available on the arXiv.A talk I gave in August 2012 was blogged about on the Electric Handle Slide, a graduate student blog focusing on symplectic and low-dimensional topology.
In March 2014, Tye Lidman and I co-organized an AMS special session, which included a discussion of open problems. A list of these problems is available here.
In Spring 2016, Matt Hedden, Kent Orr, Mark Powell, and I co-organized a workshop in Banff, Canada which included a discussion of open problems. A list of these problems is included in the final report, available here.
In Summer 2017, Robert Lipshitz, Danny Ruberman, and I co-organized a workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico, which included a discussion of open problems. A list of these problems is included in the final report, available here.
In Summer 2019, I gave a 4 hour lecture series on Heegaard Floer homology at PCMI. Videos of the lectures are available on youtube and accompanying lecture notes are available on the arXiv. Matt Hedden has compiled some resources for learning Heegaard Floer homology here.
